The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Seekers and Schemers parties.

Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
