Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player won his initial championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

It is his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour championship, took control to force a final set.

Moutet saved 4 early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
